"But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things -- that they admonish the young women to lover their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you. Exhort bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back, not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things." Titus 2:1-9
Our Co-Pastors
As we see our co-pastors now, together, side by side, is how it appears they've traveled not only in everyday life, but in ministry. Whether preaching individually or as a team, they are indeed walking, talking vessels of God's Holy Word and their reverence for Jesus resonates in all areas of their lives.
Rev. Dr. Johnny White and Rev. Paulette C. White were ordained deacons, simultaneously, in Louisiana in 1993 and likewise, two years later, were ordained as Elders. Rev. Johnny, still enlisted in the Army, was sent to Korea during which time, Rev. Paulette stepped up to continue pastoring Bethel, until both were charged with co-pastoring Salter Chapel in Minerva, Texas. While serving at Salter Chapel, Rev. Johnny was charged with pastoring Young's Chapel in Austin, Texas. Rev. Paulette stayed at Salter Chapel until 2000 when she came to Thomas Chapel. For the first time in their ministry, they were pastors in separate places, apart from each other. Nevertheless, as they remained faithful to their calling and their duties, God opened the door to their being together again in 2003 when Rev. Johnny joined Rev. Paulette and the rest of the Thomas Chapel family.
Rev. Johnny White is native of Grand Rapids, MI and an Army veteran. Rev. Paulette hails from Mooresville, North Carolina and is also an Army veteran. They are not only the loving and faithful parents of biological children, but because of their kindness are affectionately called 'Mom' and 'Dad' by many 'adopted' children all over the world.
